UNINSTALLING DB2 USING THE FORCE BRUTE METHOD, DB2UNINS -F, REMOVES WINDOWS
REGISTRY ENTRIES RELATED TO MICROSOFT SQL SERVER

Problem description:
Uninstalling DB2 using "db2unins -f" removes all Microsoft SQL 
Server Windows registry entries under: 
 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
Problem Summary:

Local Fix:
Only use Add/Remove programs to perform your uninstalls. If 
Add/Remove programs is not an option and you must use "db2unins 
-f", a reinstall of your Microsoft SQL Server products will be 
necessary.
