DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC77995 Status: Closed

db2pd ( or db2pdcfg ) with -dbp or -mem option keeps on spawning new db2pd
( or db2pdcfg ) in a loop, and may exhaust the system

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
If db2nodes.cfg has non canonical hostname at the second column, 
such as netname, service adaptor name, or "localhost",  as below 
example, db2pd or db2pdcfg with -dbp or -member option may run 
in an endless loop, and keep on spawning new db2pd or db2pdcfg 
process.

* above second columns are not 'hostname' command output but 
netname. 
 
If 'hostname' command returns hidehy1, hidehy2 and hidehy3 at 
each machines. 
Here is correct example:

* above second columns are output of 'hostname' command at each 
machines.

Modify db2nodes.cfg to use canonical hostname at the second 
column of db2nodes.cfg
