DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC78220 Status: Closed

DB2TOOL -TW TNAME CAN FIND NO MATCHING TABLES, BUT CAN GENERATE RELATED
OBJECTS.

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
The db2tool -tw tools may incorrectly generate output for views
which happen to have dependant objects that meet the value
passed in. However these object are not tables.

There is possibility to reproduce issue. The issue can be seen
on then sample database.

db2look -d sample -e -tw v%

produces:

...
...
-- There are no tables with names that match the pattern
criteria
...
...
-- DDL Statements for Views
...
...

CREATE VIEW VFORPLA (PROJNO, PROJNAME, RESPEMP, PROJDEP,
FRSTINIT, MIDINIT, LASTNAME) AS SELECT ALL F1.PROJNO, PROJNAME,
RESPEMP, PROJDEP, SUBSTR(FIRSTNME, 1, 1), MIDINIT, LASTNAME
FROM VPROJRE1 F1 LEFT OUTER JOIN EMPPROJACT F2 ON F1.PROJNO =
F2.PROJNO;
...
...

The object VPROJRE1 is actually a view and NOT a table. The
tool prints related object because of association with views
that fit filter criteria.
