DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC78399 | Status: Closed |
INCORRECT ESTIMATED DATA PAGE I/O COST FOR FETCH OPERATIONS USING PARTITIONED INDEXES WITH DETAILED INDEX STATISTICS.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
In some cases, the I/O cost associated with a data page fetch operation will be under-estimated when the index is partitioned, detailed index statistics have been collected and all index partitions must be accessed i.e. the query doesn't contain any predicates that can limit the number of index partitions that are accessed. The problem can be avoided by collecting non-detailed index statistics i.e. do not include the 'DETAILED' keyword on the RUNSTATS command.
