DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC78612 | Status: Closed |
MQT CAN NOT BE RECOGNIZED AS VIEW MQT WHEN IT HAS MDC
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
If MQT is defined as "SELECT * FROM <view_name>", this MQT is supposed to be identified as view MQT. A view MQT may replace a view referenced by the query, and thus the query may scan the MQT rather than recompute the view from base tables. An MQT can specify MDC (Multidimensional Clustering) defined in the MQT creation ddl. The MDC, however, prevents MQT from being treated as view MQT. As result, the view MQT with MDC may not replace the query referenced view although that is expected.
