DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC78879 Status: Closed

Time-spent metrics reported by MON_GET_ACTIVITY_DETAILS interface may be
inconsistent.

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
The time-spent metrics reported in DB2 monitor interfaces
comprise a strict hierarchy whereby each time-spent metric
reported is a component (child) of a parent time-spent metric.
For example, the TOTAL_SECTION_SORT_TIME metric is a child of
the STMT_EXEC_TIME metric and describes the portion of statement
execution time spent performing sorts.

On Serial DB2 configurations, the MON_GET_ACTIVITY_DETAILS
monitor interface may report inconsistent data with respect to
this time-spent hierarchy. In particular, child metrics in the
hierarchy may be reported as larger than the corresponding
parent metric. This is a temporary condition that will resolve
itself if the MON_GET_ACTIVITY_DETAILS function is invoked again
at a later time period. The error arises from a delay in the
reporting of the parent time metrics.
