Problem IC78936 | Status: Closed |
BACKUP PERFORMANCE DEGRADATION UPGRADING TO 9.5 FP5+
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Backup Performance may degrade after applying 9.5 Fix Pack 5 or greater when executing the Backup command without explicitly specifying the Parallelism and Buffer Values and when letting DB2 automatically compute the values. Automatic values chosen by DB2 when no parallelism or buffer size is explicitly chosen is lower in FP5+ compared to FP4. For example, In one case: Fix Pack "4" : Autonomic backup/restore - using parallelism = 12. Using buffer size = 3328, number = 24 Fixpak "5" : Autonomic backup/restore - using parallelism = 2. Using buffer size = 4096, number = 4.
