DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC78998 | Status: Closed |
GPFS FAILS TO RECOVER DUE TO CONDRESPV98_RESP.KSH SCRIPT BEING RUN IN PARALLEL
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 980 - DB2
Problem description: | |
When Heart Beat (HB) detects an adapter down, TS_LOC_DOWN_ST is logged in errpt and the condrespV98_resp.ksh script is called. This script is also called when HB detects a backup adapter coming up, ECH_PING_FAIL_PRMRY is logged in errpt. The former executes the mmshutdown command to unmount gpfs, and the latter executes the mmstartup command to start up GPFS daemons. If these two events occur one after another in quick succession, there is a timing hole where mmstartup will fail to start up the GPFS daemons since they have not yet been terminated by the mmshutdown command. This leaves the system with GPFS unmounted.
