DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC79156 | Status: Closed |
DB2 INSTALLATION COMPLETES WITH "MINOR ERROR" BUT NO ERROR FOUND IN INSTALLLOG
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
DB2 install completes with the following warning: "WARNING: A minor error occurred while installing '<Product Name>' on this computer. Some features may not function correctly. " This can be caused by a failure in the installation of the ITMA component, which triggers a "Minor Error" condition but does not report the error in the install log. To determine if ITMA is the cause of the minor error, check the ITMA installation log for any error conditions or core dumps. A failed ITMA installation will not affect normal DB2 operation. However, it may cause further warnings on instance update or migration. Instructions for removing ITMA from a DB2 copy can be found in the Information Center here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9r5/topic/com.i bm.db2.luw.qb.server.doc/doc/t0054822.html

The ITMA component is only used by Data Studio Admin Console (DSAC). If ITMA is not required, it can be removed from the install media by removing the entire db2/<platform>/itma directory.
