DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC79309 Status: Closed

POSSIBLE TRAP DURING QUERY COMPILATION IN A DATABASE THAT USES UCA-BASED
COLLATION

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 950 - DB2
Problem description:
This problem can occur in a database using UCA-based collation
during query compilation of an SQL statement that contains one
or more equality join predicates that reference columns of type
CHAR, VARCHAR, GRAPHIC, VARGRAPHIC and one or both of the
columns in the join predicate have distribution statistics
collected. The problem does not occur if the character type is
FOR BIT DATA.

You can identify that you hit this problem if the following
function list is found in the trap file stack trace:

sqlnlsICUstrcollUTF16BE
sqlv_g_varUCA_comp
sqlrxcp2
sqlno_compare_literal
sqlno_nud_compare_literal
sqlno_ff_updateEffHighLowKeys
sqlno_ff_col_eq_col
sqlno_ff_compute_atomprd

This problem was first introduced in the following DB2 releases:

Version 9.5 Fix Pack 8
Version 9.7 Fix Pack 4
