ALTERING A NON-STRING TABLE COLUMN TO A STRING FOR BIT DATA MAY CAUSE
RUNSTATS TO TERMINATE ABNORMALLY

Problem description:
Altering a table column of non-string type to a string for bit 
data 
may cause runstats to terminate abnormally with signal 11. The 
signal and stack will look like the following: 
 
Signal #11 (SIGSEGV): si_addr is 0x0000000000000048, si_code is 
0x00000001 (SEGV_MAPERR:Address not mapped to object.)
