DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC79597 | Status: Closed |
DATABASE ACTIVATION IS SLOW WHEN THERE ARE MANY DMS CONTAINERS DEFINED ON LARGE DPF SYSTEMS.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
During the database activation there is an unnecessary call to open/lock/close DBM CFG cfg file for every DMS container, so systems having high number of tablespace/containers are impacted. The time required to access DBM CFG directly from the file can be significant, especially on MPP systems where the DBM CFG is NFS mounted. This problem results in longer time necessary to complete database activation process.
