DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC79853 Status: Closed

UNSUPPORTED SERVER FEATURES ARE REPORTED AS SUPPORTED FOR IDS AND DB2
ISERIES SERVERS

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
Following server features are reported as supported even though
they are not:
DECFLOAT and Optimistic locking on IDS
XML strings on DB2 iSeries V6

This incorrect feature reporting can cause sending incorrect
queries to the server, which will result in server errors,
although these can be prevented on the client beforehand. For
example .NET would allow to insert decfloat value into a column,
which would fail at the server, instead of throwing NotSupported
exception immediately without involving the server at all.
