DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC79870 | Status: Closed |
PURESCALE INSTALL FAILS WHEN AN EXISTING GPFS CLUSTER WAS CREATED USING THE IB ADAPTER AS THE HOST
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 980 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The pureScale installer assumes that the hostnames specified for the DB2 members and CF nodes match the hostnames in the GPFS cluster. This is not always a valid assumption. This APAR has been opened to address that issue. Example error from the db2icrt log showing the different hostnames: ERROR: DBI20020E The DB2 installer detected that GPFS cluster "purescalecls.hotel51-ib0" was previously created on host "hotel51". However, the GPFS cluster is offline on host "hotel51". The current DB2 installation requires you to bring host "hotel51" online in the GPFS cluster. If the GPFS cluster was created by DB2, use db2cluster to start the GPFS cluster. For details about the db2cluster command, see the DB2 Information Center. ERROR: The "db2icrt" command failed. Ensure the command parameters are valid, that errors reported in the log file are fixed, then rerun the command.
