The license of the DB2 installation will become expired if applying the fixpack with the -f nobackup option. The metadata for the license gets deleted during the installFixPack process. e.g. license is removed after a fixpack installation when -f nobackup is used machineA:/opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/adm # ./db2licm -l Product name: "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition" License type: "CPU Option" Expiry date: "Permanent" Product identifier: "db2ese" Version information: "9.7" Enforcement policy: "Soft Stop" ... machineA:/db2image # ./installFixPack -f nobackup -b /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7 ... machineA:/opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/adm/ # ./db2licm -l Product name: "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition" Expiry date: "Expired" Product identifier: "db2ese" Version information: "9.7" Enforcement policy: "Soft Stop" After applying the fix, the -f nobackup option to installFixPack will preserve the license originally installed with the previous installation. | |
