product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Package cache may be growing with increased number of statement entries and decreased numbers of variations if statement concentrator is enabled on a database. Performance degradation would be observed once package cache becomes full due to the increased number of statement entries. Users can identify if he/she is hitting this problem. - Statement concentrator is enebled on the databaes. i.e. STMT_CONC is set as LITERALS. - The number of statement entries in the package cache after running FLUSH PACKAGE CACHE keeps growing. i.e. the following number keeps growing on the database. db2 connect to <dbname> db2 flush package cache dynamic db2pd -db <dbname> -dyn | grep "^Number of Statements" - Small number of variations in comparison with number of statements remains in package cache. This problem is caused by a timing hole on deleting statement entries from package cache.
