DB2 - Problem description

APPLICATION CRASH DUE TO JAVA ERROR 'IOEXCEPTION: TOO MANY OPEN
FILES' IF ENABLESYSPLEXWLB=TRUE

Problem description:
If a JDBC application is connecting to a DB2 for z/OS Sysplex 
(Data-sharing) environment or DB2 PureScale environment, a 
situation may occur in which file references to a temporary file 
(serverlist.lock) are not closed, and continue to accumulate 
until the application returns the following exception: 
 
  IOException: Too many open files 
 
This will result in a JVM crash. 
 
If this issue is suspected, run the following command for 
several iterations: 
 
On Unix: 
 
lsof -u <application userid> 
 
If the number of file desciptors pointing to 
  /tmp/serverlist.lock
