DB2 - Problem description

DB2IDROP FAILS TO DROP INSTANCE AND DISPLAYS MISLEADING SUCCESS MESSAGE

Problem description:
When the sqllib directory of the instance user is missing, 
db2idrop will display a success message but fail to drop the 
instance. 
 
e.g. 
 
# ./db2idrop db2inst1 
DBI1070I  Program db2idrop completed successfully. 
 
# ./db2ilist 
db2inst1

Local Fix:
Remove the global registry entry using db2iset and remove any 
ports used by the instance: 
1) db2iset -d db2inst1 
2) remove unused db2inst1 related ports from /etc/services

Solution
