DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC84356 Status: Closed

MEMORY LEAK WITH DS DRIVER WHEN PROCESSING DB2DSDRIVER.CFG KEYWORDS IN .NET

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description:
When using the DB2 Data Server Driver Package, there might be a
small memory leak (anywhere from 1-30 bytes) for every
connection request made with the DB2 .NET data provider.

The problem would only occur if the DS Driver was processing
keywords from the db2dsdriver.cfg file for the connection. For
example keywords like Authentication and ClientApplicationName.

This specific problem would not happen if using ODBC/CLI or OLE
DB, as the process where a leak was detected is only triggered
by the DB2 .NET data provider.

Local Fix:
Removing the keywords from the db2dsdriver.cfg file may reduce
or eliminate the leak. Using an instance based client like the
Data Server Client would also help eliminate the leak.
