RUNNING DB2ADVIS TO RECOMMEND DPF PARTITIONS CAN CAUSE DB2 INSTANCE TO TRAP
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Running db2advis to recommend DPF partitions can cause DB2 instance to trap if the SQL statements that are passed into db2advis meet all of the following conditions: 1) A table is NULL-producing side of an outer join 2) At least one of the partitioning columns of the table is bound to a constant, or is bound to a column in the outer SQL block (i.e. outer reference), via an equality predicate, or via transitivity of multiple equality predicates. A similar trap stack will look like the folllowing: sqlno_part_scale_index sqlno_cost_ridbid_iscan sqlno_cost_iscan sqlno_prop_iscan sqlno_index_scan sqlno_crule_index_scan sqlno_crule_access_root sqlno_crule_access sqlno_plan_qun
