Problem description: | |
In DB2 HADR setup with TSA, when one of the nodes goes offline, we often see the following misleading error messages in db2diag.log which are not real error messages. The message is output because IBM.Test resource cannot be created since one of the nodes is offline. db2diag.log messages look like this: 2012-08-02-08.37.48.730068-240 E2130155A820 LEVEL: Error PID : 10944630 TID : 1 PROC : db2gcf INSTANCE: db2inst1 NODE : 000 EDUID : 1 FUNCTION: DB2 Common, SQLHA APIs for DB2 HA Infrastructure, sqlhaAddResource, probe:1600 MESSAGE : ECF=0x90000542=-1879046846=ECF_SQLHA_CREATE_GROUP_FAILED Create group failed DATA #1 : String, 35 bytes Error during vendor call invocation DATA #2 : unsigned integer, 4 bytes 1 DATA #3 : String, 0 bytes Object not dumped: Address: 0x0000000110177810 Size: 0 Reason: Zero-length data DATA #4 : unsigned integer, 8 bytes 1 DATA #5 : signed integer, 4 bytes 16777223 DATA #6 : String, 137 bytes Line # : 3634---2645-069 The request could not be completed because the resource class is not active on a quorum of nodes in the domain. 2012-08-02-08.37.48.730250-240 E2130976A370 LEVEL: Warning PID : 10944630 TID : 1 PROC : db2gcf INSTANCE: db2inst1 NODE : 000 EDUID : 1 FUNCTION: DB2 Common, SQLHA APIs for DB2 HA Infrastructure, sqlhaCreateFlagRG, probe:1100 RETCODE : ECF=0x90000542=-1879046846=ECF_SQLHA_CREATE_GROUP_FAILED Create group failed These error messages can be ignored. With this fix we will remove these misleading error messages to avoid further confusion with users. | |
