DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC85877 Status: Closed

SQL COMPATIBILITY : EXIT COMMAND DOES NOT RETURN PROPER RETURN CODE FOR
BIND VARIABLES WITH NUMBER DATATYPE

Problem description:
This issue is critical in terms of customer's migrating from 
oracle to DB2 will need to modify their scripts, if they have 
bind variables of type NUMBER and used with EXIT command. 
 
CLPPlus EXIT command returns always 0 when used with Bind 
Variable of type NUMBER. for example: 
 
variable exit_value number; 
 
declare 
v_dummy integer; 
begin 
:exit_value:=9; 
select col01 into v_dummy from (select 1 col01  from dual); 
end; 
/ 
 
exit :exit_value

Solution
v97 FP7 fixes this issue. User will be able to use bind 
variables of type NUMBER with EXIT command.
Workaround
Use integer bind variable instead
