IBM.DATA.U2.UCINET.DLL PROVIDER NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED FOR BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY |

| Problem description: |
The IBM.Data.U2.Ucinet assembly was removed in DB2 v9.7, however
if a DB2.NET application was written in DB2 v9.5 (or earlier)
and was then moved to a machine that had DB2 v9.7 (or v10.1)
installed on it, then the application may fail with the
following error message:
Could not load file or assembly 'IBM.Data.U2.Ucinet,
Version=9.0.0.2, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=8934f56ec52178f6' or one of its dependencies.
The system cannot find the file specified.
This APAR will ensure that we provide a dummy copy of the
IBM.Data.U2.Ucinet assembly to ensure that a DB2.NET application
written in a previous version of DB2 can still run under a
current version like DB2 v9.7 or v10.1 |

| Local Fix: |
If the application was rebuilt under v9.7 (or v10.1) then the
problem would go away since the v9.7 (or v10.1) application
would not need the reference to the IBM.Data.U2.Ucinet assembly.
Another option would be to get a copy of the IBM.Data.U2.Ucinet
assembly from a DB2 v9.5 installation, and then manually add
that assembly to the GAC after v9.7 (or v10.1) is installed. |
