Problem IC88511 | Status: Closed |
EXCESSIVE DIAGNOSTIC LOGGING SERVICING ASYNCHRONOUS LOG READ REQUESTS (DB2READLOG API)
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
DB2 logs excessive messages to the db2diag.log servicing asynchronous log read requests (from the db2ReadLog API) as of version 9.8. This is due to an enhancement to use parallelism during log scanning. Any systems servicing applications performing replication are likely to experience this behaviour. An example of one frequent message is below. Many other messages are logged by functions beginning with sqlp EDUID : 672496 EDUNAME: db2agent (SAMPLE) 0 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, data protection services, sqlpgReadLogCalculateShredderScanMemory, probe:19890 DATA #1 : <preformatted> Setting shrScanMemBytes to 25176064
