DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC88626 Status: Closed

DB2PD MAY UNDER THE COVERS RUN ALL DATABASE SCOPE OPTIONS WHEN ONLY ONE OR
A FEW OPTIONS WERE REQUESTED

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description:
When db2pd is run with an option that retrieves a lot of data
from the server e.g. -tcbstats or -dynamic
it has to store the data in a local buffer before showing the
output.
If this initial buffer is too small, db2pd needs to reallocate
the buffer.
The retry logic involved in this has a problem whereby it would
cause all database scope option of db2pd to be executed.
This is incorrect as the retry logic should only re-execute the
options that were passed to db2pd initially.

A workaround exists by increasing the initial db2pd buffer size
by setting an environment variable : DB2PDBUFSIZE
e.g.

export DB2PDBUFSIZE=33554432
( 32MB )
