DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC90180 | Status: Closed |
RUNSTATS SAMPLING MIGHT BEHAVE INCORRECTLY IN DPF ENVIRONMENTS
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
In DPF environments, when a runstats command is submitted from an application that is connected to a database partition on which the table does not reside, the statistics collection is processed by another database partition, one on which the table resides. In this situation, runstats sampling might behave incorrectly when the INDEXSAMPLE option or the REPEATABLE option is used. The problem symptoms are as follows: - if only INDEXSAMPLE is set, runstats will not execute with index sampling - if only REPEATABLE is set, runstats will not use the requested repeatable seed, and index sampling will occur when it was not requested - if both INDEXSAMPLE and REPEATABLE are set, runstats will use both options, but not with the intended index sampling rate nor the requested repeatable seed The statistics logs can be viewed to confirm if the requested options were executed.
