DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC90389 | Status: Closed |
BACKUP LIST UTILITIES COMPLETED WORK ESTIMATE INACCURATE WHEN BACKUP-COMPRESSION ENABLED.
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The LIST UTILITIES 'Completed Work' metric (which is displayed via 'db2 list utilities' or 'db2pd -utilities') during Backup with compression is inaccurate, which makes it difficult to gauge how close to completion a backup is. The 'Completed Work' value will climb steadily while the backup is running. However, before approaching anywhere close to the Total Work estimate, the backup will suddenly complete and only then will the 'Completed Work' value reflect the Total Work estimate. This can be easily observed by running a Backup with compression, and viewing 'db2pd -utilities' output every second.
