DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC91351 Status: Closed

CREATION OF LARGE INDEXES OF LARGE INDEXES IS SLOWER THAN EXPECTED WHEN
USING THE DB2 PURESCALE FEATURE

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description:
Creating large indexes in a DB2 pureScale Environment may take
longer than expected.

During this time, monitoring the table activity in db2top ('T'
option) will show very low rows read / sec on the temp tables
used by the create index process. Monitoring the tablespace
activity will show high logical reads compared to the number of
writes on the tablespace that has the index, provided no other
activity is happening on that tablespace.
