TRAP IN SQLBFINDPAGEINBPORSIM FOLLOWING FAILED BUFFER POOL REDUCE
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description: | |
An ALTER BUFFERPOOL ... REDUCE operation issued either manually or automatically by STMM fails for internal reasons (a known case is a failure in the sqldFixTCB routine). Depending on the point of the failure, some of the buffer pool's properties may have been changed, but this modification is not rolled back appropriately. If this condition is met, a subsequent buffer pool reduce operation may free buffer pool memory that is still in use. The symptom may vary, a known case is an instance abend when inserting new index keys, with the call stack similar to: sqlbFindPageInBPOrSim sqlbfix sqlbFixPage sqlifix sqlischf sqliSearchFromCache sqlirdk sqldBatchInxPXLocks sqldInsertPrefInxPXLocks sqldKeyInsert sqldRowInsert sqlrinsr sqlriisr
