DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC91793 Status: Closed

DB2CKBKP REPORTS MISLEADING ERROR "NO PAGE HEADER: POSSIBLE LOB.ERROR
- TABLESPACE PAGE SIZE INCONSISTENT FOR TABLESPACE ID <#>"

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description:
A 'db2ckbkp -a <DB2_backup_image>' reports misleading error on
possible LOB page.

The report of db2ckbkp will look like following:

        No page header: Possible LOB.
        No page header: Possible LOB.
No page header: Possible LOB.ERROR - Tablespace page
size inconsistent for tablespace ID 2.

        No page header: Possible LOB.
        No page header: Possible LOB.

The error does not belong to the LOB page it is reported next
to. It belongs to the next page being checked by db2ckbkp.

Some caution needs to be taken with the db2ckbkp report. The
utility does not know about the type of a page it is going to
check (in contrast to the db2dart utility).
Hence the utility tries to determine if a page is a LOB page,
DMS page, INDEX page or any other type.

As LOB pages can look like anything you can ignore the error.
