DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC94286 Status: Closed

DB2 BACKUP IMAGE MAY MISS AUTOMATIC STORAGE INFORMATION

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
DB2 uses two control files to track information about configured
AUTOMATIC STORAGE path. The files are named SQLSGF.1 and
SQLSGF.2 and are located in the local database directory. There
might be external cicrumstances, like file system problems,
where these files could become corrupted (i.e file size is 0
byte).

In such a scenario a db2 backup command might still succeed
leaving the customer under the impression that this is a good
backup image. However, such a backup can not be restored
anymore. DB2 restore might fail with the following message in
db2diag.log:

This APAR is opened to enhance DB2 backup code to detect such
problems by doing some additional sanity checks when performing
the DB2 backup.
