DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC95285 Status: Closed

DB2PREREQCHK SHOULD DISPLAY WARNING MESSAGES INSTEAD OF ERRORS ONLY FOR
/OPT WHEN SPACE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description:
When running db2prereqcheck to confirm pre-requirements are met,
the following errors are displayed if space requirements for
/opt and /home directories are not met.

DBT3571E The db2prereqcheck utility found that the directory
"/opt" does not have enough free space on host "host003".
Required space:
"5120000 KB". Actual space present: "293360 KB".

DBT3571E The db2prereqcheck utility found that the directory
"/home" does not have enough free space on host "host003".
Required space:
"5120000 KB". Actual space present: "229288 KB".

The checks may not be relevant if directories such as /home and
/opt are checked when the user has the home directory and
install directory in a different location. The APAR changes the
checks and reduces the
error messages to warnings for appropriate directories.
The documentation is updated to reflect these changes.

These errors can be ignored during fixpack update or new
install.
