DB2 - Problem description
Problem IC95360 | Status: Closed |
DB2 V10.1 DB2INSTANCESTOP() API IS NOT DOWNLEVEL COMPATIBLE, DB2STOPOPTIONSSTRUCT WAS CHANGED
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
In DB2 v10.1 the db2StopOptionsStruct was changed which is an argument to db2InstanceStop(). If the API is called with a downlevel versionNumber less than db2Version1010 then the API does not honor the version of the input structures that was passed into the function. It will always assume the DB2 version 10.1 format of the input structures, even if they have a format of a previous release, for example v82. This can cause unpredicatable results, depending which iStopOption is used. For example the iStopOption SQLE_FORCE ("db2 stop with FORCE") might be lost so that the program fails with an unexpected error SQL1025N.
