Problem description: | |
The SYSIBM.TRANSLATE built-in function may return the wrong data type when input arguments are a mix of graphic and non-graphic types. As documented in the DB2 Information Centre, the data type and code page of the result is the same as the data type and code page of the first argument. For example: TRANSLATE( CHAR, GRAPHIC, VARGRAPHIC ) should return CHAR but returns GRAPHIC TRANSLATE( VARCHAR, GRAPHIC, VARGRAPHIC ) should return VARCHAR but returns VARGRAPHIC TRANSLATE( GRAPHIC, VARCHAR, VARCHAR ) should return GRAPHIC but returns CHAR TRANSLATE( VARGRAPHIC, VARCHAR, VARCHAR ) should return VARGRAPHIC but returns VARCHAR | |
