DB2 - Problem description

Problem IT05260 Status: Closed

DB2CKBKP TOOL GENERATES SEGMENTATION FAULT WHEN MEMBER ID OF THE IMAGE IS
GREATER THAN 128 ON AIX PLATFORMS

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A10 - DB2
Problem description:
Using db2ckbkp tool to verify the content on a backup image
whose member id is greater than 128 will generate a segmentation
fault and end the program with a core dump.

Reproduction:
1. On AIX platform, create a database with topology such that
the member id is greater than 128. For example, single partition
on node 400, and member id is 400.
> db2 create db sample

2. Backup the database on that partition
> db2 backup db sample

3. Use db2ckbkp tool to verify the content of the backup image.
db2ckbkp SAMPLE.0.tester.DBPART400.20141024114609.001

[1] Buffers processed: #############
Segmentation fault(coredump)

Local Fix:
There's no local fix, db2ckbkp cannot verify the backup image.
This error does not imply that the backup image is corrupted.
User can still restore their database with the image.
Solution
Problem was first fixed in DB2 UDB Version 10.5 fix pack 5.
db2ckbkp will correctly validate the content of the backup
image.
Workaround
not known / see Local fix
