You may find that when you run a query with with Count(Distinct x ) against a column based table that you get intermittent slow performance for the query. For example, for the query: select count(distinct id) from test where date > '2014-04-20'; run against a table with 130 million rows that normal takes 5 seconds to run you will intermittently find that the query takes greater than 40 seconds. | |
