DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT05704 | Status: Closed |
ON RHEL 6, THE DB2FMCU COMMAND CREATES THE /ETC/INIT/DB2FMCD.CON F FILE BUT DOES NOT EXPLICITLY START/STOP THE DB2FMCD SERVICE.

DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description: | |
On RHEL6 (and CentOS 6) issuing the "../sqllib/bin/db2fmcu -u -p ../sqllib/bin/db2fmcd" command to enable the db2fmcd service creates the /etc/init/db2fmcd.conf file but does not explicitly start the db2fmcd service. In order to start the db2fmcd service the "initctl start db2fmcd" command can be issued as root after having run the "../sqllib/bin/db2fmcu -u -p ../sqllib/bin/db2fmcd" command. Similarly the "../sqllib/bin/db2fmcu -d" command used to disable the db2fmcd service deletes the /etc/init/db2fmcd.conf file does not explicitly stop the db2fmcd service. In order to stop the db2fmcd service the "initctl stop db2fmcd" command can be issued as root. In summary the following commands need to be run as root to start/stop the db2fmcd service: START: ../sqllib/bin/db2fmcu -u -p ../sqllib/bin/db2fmcd initctl start db2fmcd STOP: initctl stop db2fmcd ../sqllib/bin/db2fmcu -d"
