Informix - Problem description
Problem IT06098 | Status: Closed |
USERS CANNOT BE CONNECTED TO IDS ON WINDOWS WITHOUT PROVIDING USER NAME AND PASSWORD
product: | |
INFORMIX SERVER / 5725A3900 / C10 - IDS 12.10
Problem description: | |
If you have an IDS instance running on Windows and you use the %Windir%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts.equiv file to specify trusted hosts, you expect an existing user with blank password from these hosts to successfully connect to the instance if one of the following syntax is used in hosts.equiv file: A) a standalone '+' sign, i.e.: + However existing users cannot connect, even when CHECKALLDOMAINSFORUSER has been set. The users will get 951, the server will show 956. If the user has connected once via dbaccess, registry entries for the user will be created and subsequent logins will work without providing a user name or password. In an environment where there are several thousand users connecting directly on an application which does the authentication, this workaround is not feasible.
