EXCESSIVE OVERHEAD IN SHARED SORT MEMORY, DATABASE MEMORY WHEN EXECUTING QUERIES ON COLUMN_BASED DATA
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Excessive memory overhead may occur withing shared sort memory when executing queries on column-based data, leading to various symptoms associated with high memory usage - SQL0955, paging, out of memory errors. In order to identify that this APAR is a match for a given problem, confirm that the physical size of the sort memory subpool is both large enough to be impacting the system AND significantly exceeds the logical size (say by more than 10%). For example : db2pd -alldbs -mempools Memory Pools: MemSet PoolName LogSz PhySz CfgSize SAMPLE shsorth 8950812168 15287517184 41538355200
