ROUND() ON INTEGER DATA TYPE MIGHT PRODUCE INCORRECT OVERFLOW SQL0802N ERROR
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Calling ROUND() function on an integer data type (INT, SMALLINT, BIGINT) might return incorrect overflow error, SQL0802N. The number arguments needs to be big or small enough for a negative, such that the bit representation given it's type may result in some of the high order bits being set, either in the original number or the expected rounded number. Here is an example: values( ROUND( -555555555 , -9 ) ) -> aborts with SQL0802N, where the expected result should be: -1000000000
