DB2 - Problem description

IMPORT WITH "MODIFIED BY IDENTITYIGNORE" OPTION IS SLOWER IN
HP-UX AND SOLARIS DUE TO MISALIGNED MEMORY ACCESS

Problem description:
An import using "MODIFIED BY IDENTITYIGNORE" can be slow in 
HP-UX and SOLARIS platform. 
This is due to the misaligned memory access on those platform. 
 
As an example, this symptom may hit with following case. 
 
 (1) Target table has an identity column. 
 
CREATE TABLE TEST.TESTTB  ( 
                  "COL1" BIGINT NOT NULL GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS 
IDENTITY ( 
                    START WITH +1 
                    INCREMENT BY +1 
                    MINVALUE +1 
                    MAXVALUE +9223372036854775807 
                    NO CYCLE 
                    CACHE 20 
                    NO ORDER ) , 
.... 
 
 (2) Import is done with the option "MODIFIED BY 
IDENTITYIGNORE". 
 
$ db2 "import from testdata.ixf of ixf  MODIFIED BY 
IDENTITYIGNORE insert into TEST.TESTTB"
