DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT10555 | Status: Closed |
LIMIT OF 255 INCREASED TO 1012 COLUMNS FOR INLINE SQL TABLE FUNCTIONS
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / A50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Earlier versions of DB2 have a limit of 255 columns for user defined table functions. The limit is documented in the "create function (external table)" documentation: RETURNS Specifies the output of the function. TABLE Specifies that the output of the function is a table. The parentheses that follow this keyword delimit a list of the names and types of the columns of the table. The list style resembles the style of a simple CREATE TABLE statement which has no additional specifications (constraints, for example). No more than 255 columns are allowed (SQLSTATE 54011). The same limitation was inherited implicitly by inline SQL table functions. With this APAR, the limit raised for inline SQL table functions, going up to a maximum 1012 columns.
