DB2 - Problem description

Problem IC87302 Status: Closed

INCORRECT SYNTAX COMBINATION OF CAST AND DATE FUNCTIONS SUCH AS DAYS,
MINUTES ETC CAN CAUSE COMPILER CRASH INSTEAD OF SQL0104

product:
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / 970 - DB2
Problem description:
If incorrect syntax is used which involves the CAST operator and
a DATE function DAYS or ( MINUTES, MONTHS, YEARS etc ) ,
then instead of a SQL0104 syntax error being returned a compiler
crash
can occur.
Example statement :
db2 "select cast( ( current_timestamp ) days as decimal ) from
sysibm.sysdummy1 "

will return following error:

SQL0901N The SQL statement failed because of a non-severe
system error.
Subsequent SQL statements can be processed. (Reason
"SQLNQ_CONVERTNODE 010".)
SQLSTATE=58004
