IBM Informix Genero, a 4GL solution, is compatible with existing Informix 4GL and provides a cost-effective path to modernize Informix 4GL applications through a graphical user interface, usually with minimal changes to existing code. Informix Genero V2.40 introduces enhancements that improve compatibility with Informix 4GL, as well as extend web development capabilities with the introduction of a new HTML5 theme that integrates well with a greatly enhanced Microsoft Silverlight template. Additional enhancements to the included Informix Genero Studio development environment component allows for application modelling with improved user navigation for its business application modeller and application generator, enabling developers to more easily create new applications.
