ASSERT FAILURE POSSIBLE DURING INSERT OPERATION INTO A TABLE WITH AN ACTIVE CREATE INDEX ONLINE OPERATION

An Assertion Failure may be possible when inserting a row into a
table that meets certain conditions whilst an online index
create operation is active.

Other stack traces may also be seen but all will have the
function onl_check_pimage close to the top. There may be several
different factors required for the Assert Failure to happen and
these include:
- The page selected for the row insert operation is previously
unused with contents that include junk for the page header.
- Parts of the page header fulfill the criteria for a data or
remainder type of page.
- The address information in the page header is invalid and
references a chunk that does not exist.
- A table has been dropped since the last checkpoint in the same
dbspace where the insert operation takes place, or a backup is
active for the dbspace and it is determined that the
before-image of the page is needed for the backup. |
