ODBC HANGS WHEN FETCHING MULTIBYTE TEXT DATA IF THE ROW IS LOCKED

| Problem description: |
An application using the ODBC or the .NET provider may hang in
an endless loop while doing a select from a TEXT column if one
of the rows are locked by another session.
The hang only appears if the database is multibyte (e.g. UTF8). |
