IBM license information for Informix

License informations are only one part of IBM licensing!!

IBM software licensing is usually based on the interaction of several contractual components.

One of the most important components is the license information (LI), supported by the "International Program License Agreement" (IPLA). The IPLA regulates the principles of licensing internationally and across all programs, while the program-specific conditions are defined in the license information.

For a complete view of licensing, IBM summarizes the documents of an order. In addition to the license information, the order documents also include documents such as offers, proof of entitlement and invoices from IBM. Additional customer-specific agreements can supplement the provisions of the IPLA or the LI and then take precedence.

Which license information is the right one?

IBM publishes new license information for each software release. When updates are installed, the software and license terms migrate in the same way; the terms for the release of the installed software apply in each case.

IBM occasionally carries out brand realignments and name changes for software products. Therefore, the license information of older or newer versions may have different names.

IBM Informix product lines

From small boxes to global companies

Embedded in hardware, Informix starts with an installation size of 80 MB (megabytes). Based on this, the special architecture allows dynamic scaling up to high-performance - zero-downtime applications and large databases with terabytes of data.

The Informix Advanced Editions extend the high-end transaction processing with analytic in memory warehouse functions. Transactional workloads and business analytics - even of large corporations - can be executed simultaneously within one database system.
