DB2 - Problem description
Problem IT41864 | Status: Closed |
EXTERNAL TABLE INSERT OR SELECT MAY INCORRECTLY RETURN SQL0100
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
The issue occurs when the file size is exactly equal to the internal transport buffer size. When parsing the buffer it is complete but EOF is not yet reached. This would cause transporter to go to error exit returning zero rows. The accompanying ET log file for the operation shows exactly one less row read/loaded than present in the file. For example, a file contains 100 rows. When the error occurs selecting from this external table, the result shows 0 rows selected but the log file shows 99 rows read. For an application performing INSERT operations from an external file the number of rows inserted is 0 instead of the expected number of rows present in the file.
