DATABASE CREATE FAILS WITH SQL2049N RC=2 WHEN DB2_DATABASE_CF_MEMORY BEING SET TO 0
product: | |
DB2 FOR LUW / DB2FORLUW / B50 - DB2
Problem description: | |
Customer observed SQL2049N rc=2 when setting DB2_DATABASE_CF_MEMORY equal to 0. As per the documentation link below, the expected behavior when DB2_DATABASE_CF_MEMORY is set to 0, and cf_db_mem_sz is set to automatic is that the database should be created with the smallest possible size of 32,768 4K pages. https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/db2/11.5?topic=configuration-cf-memo ry-parameter Instead what we see is the SCA is assigned a value of ~800GB, which on most systems will lead to SQL2049N rc=2 021-05-27-18.22.28.304184-240 E138651E1289 LEVEL: Severe PID : 16415 TID : 140580524910336 PROC : db2sysc 0 INSTANCE: db2inst1 NODE : 000 DB : SAMPLE APPHDL : 0-59 APPID: *N0.db2inst1.210527222227 AUTHID : DB2INST1 HOSTNAME: localhost EDUID : 31 EDUNAME: db2agnts 0 FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, Shared Data Structure Abstraction Layer for CF, SAL_MANAGEMENT_PORT_HANDLE::SAL_ManagementAllocateOneStruct, probe:7974 MESSAGE : CA RC= 2147879427 DATA #1 : String, 61 bytes CF structure allocation exception (structType,target_sz,SID): DATA #2 : SAL Structure Type, PD_TYPE_SAL_STRUCT_TYPE, 8 bytes Structure type 2 : sca DATA #3 : unsigned integer, 4 bytes 204256256
